Tony Eubanks, Chaplain for Clemson University’s football team, will be speaking this Monday from 7:00-8:45 AM in the Ministry Center at the St. Andrew’s Men’s Breakfast.
In addition to being the Chaplain for Clemson football, Tony also heads up a dynamic ministry called Spiritual 2-A-Days. The mission of the Spiritual 2-A-Days Ministry is to equip college student-athletes with a mentor who will provide the framework for training and development in education, personal development, accountability, and biblical spirituality.
Tony Eubanks established the Spiritual-2-A-Days Ministry in 2004 while watching the Clemson University football team go through their grueling 2-A-Day practices. As the team Chaplain, Tony desired to challenge the student-athletes in accountability and in spirituality as much as they were being challenged physically. He began mentoring three athletes in 2004. Now, going into the Fall 2009 season 104 of the 105 Clemson football players are being mentored. Spiritual-2-A-Days has now also expanded into high schools and women’s ministry and continues to grow in popularity nationally.
Tony will be speaking to us on the merits of this mentoring ministry and he hopes to also bring along with him a current player or two from Clemson’s football team to give their testimonies about how Spiritual Two-A-Days has impacted their lives. Tickets are only $5.00 each and can be purchased throughout the week at the reception desk in the Ministry Center, after Sunday services on Sept. 13 and at the door Monday morning Sept. 14. Ticket sales are being limited to 200 tickets. A support offering plate will be available at the breakfast to provide financial support for the Spiritual 2-A-Day Ministry.
