By the way, I bought &quot;John Calvin: A Heart for Devotion, Doctrine &amp; Doxology&quot;.  Consider this, &quot;man&#039;s nature is a perpetual factory of idols&quot; (Pg. 7) and &quot;For, as consulting our self-interest is the pestilence that most effectively leads to our destruction, so the sole haven of salvation is to be wise in nothing through ourselves but to follow the leading of the Lord alone.&quot; (Pp. 6 &amp; 7).  Both quotes in the book are taken directly from The Institutes.

Reading Calvin is like getting a swift kick in the head and then saying &#039;thank you, do that again&#039; without being masochistic!</description>
