I feel when I serve and when I partake a closeness to Christ’s body that I am not aware of in other situations. I feel a true part of the body and blood when I am there.

Interestingly enough I feel it more when I’m serving communion than when I’m just partaking of it.

I stand and pray as I look over the congregation, I make eye contact with the hands and arms of God, I pray for the faces that I feel prayers for, I offer and speak names that I know when I can… each face brings me to a closer connection to the living body of Christ.

I had never taken communion prior to belonging to St. Andrews… Didn’t understand it, thought it was weird…

How much we miss when we close ourselves off to the Greater understanding of Life.
