12 days is a long time. 10 down, two to go.
Today was a busy but low-key day on the floor. Busy in the sense that there were a massive amount of resolutions and voting that needed to take place. Low-key in that no big issues hit the House of Deputies. Of course, after the past two days, there’s not too many ways it could have been made worse. Tomorrow promises to be long. The President of the House of Deputies warned us today that we will probably add an evening session to the schedule tomorrow night so that we might address the remaining resolutions. One is never sure what will make it to the floor. So, I can’t predict what we’ll be looking at tomorrow.
As I wrap this up tonight I want to say, “thank you,” to my fellow deputies from South Carolina: Haden McCormick, David Thurlow, Lydia Evans, Boo Pennewill, Wade Logan, Reid Boylston, Lonnie Hamilton and, especially, the Chair of our Deputation, John Burwell. These folks represented SC well. Up early to monitor resolutions and speak before legislative committees, speaking on the floor, daily briefings and then the interaction with deputies from across the country: all opportunities to witness to Jesus.
One last note, I will be quoted in tomorrow’s New York Times – just a sentence, but I had a long interview with the reporter today. You can check out the article here.
Good night from Anaheim.

Steve. Did you see Tom Wright’s piece in yesterday’s Times (London) http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/columnists/guest_contributors/article6710640.ece
This is very significant as he has been an evangelical critic of the Confessing Anglican movement.

love that quote, good use of the word steamrolled also
steve, I cannot even imagine how burned out you must be. Even the most uplifting, interesting conventions get a bit tiresome after 4 or 5 days, nevermind 12 days of wackiness and frustration!!! So glad Jacqui and the boys will be there soon. Prayers will continue for stamina and God’s grace.
Thanks, Kim. Believe me, news of Tom Wright’s article swept through convention for the very reason you mentioned. Now, let’s hope he stay in this position.
Steve:
Eager for your return. I miss you.
