Just one more reason that I’m proud to be a Buckeye.
Below is a clip from the Cleveland Plain Dealer about the tribute Ohio State is planning for the Navy team when they travel to Columbus in a few weeks.
Navy tribute – With the Sept. 5 opener less than two weeks away, there is a movement underway to welcome the U.S. Naval Academy football team to Ohio Stadium with a huge sign of respect and admiration. When the Midshipmen take the field, the bucksinsider.com wants the 100,000-plus Buckeye fans to give them a rousing Ohio welcome.
There is an accompanying video on the website. It’s a terrific idea that should spread througout college football whenever one of the military academies takes to the road.
It reminded me of Jim Tressel’s honoring of the VT community after their campus tragedy:

I think all of those Buckeyes were at Cedar Point with me and mine on Friday! Guess what? I think I know my way around Mentor now…
Despite our current mixed Penn State/Michigan heritage, I will say “Bravo Buckeyes!” Now Nov 7 in State College, PA may be a slightly different matter. . .
Not sure I understand what they are doing. Playing a video?? Taking the field?? I’ll never understand non-southern college football.
BTW, did I mention college football starts in less than two weeks?? I have emailed our marriage counselor.
Another great tribute to them would be to let them score a touchdown.
I think cheering for them is enough.
Droopy Dog – Never forget that I know who you are and I know where you live. Don’t be hating on the Midshipmen. Our boys do the entire nation proud every time they step on the field.
Ouch, Greg. I officially retract my statement about Navy not scoring a touchdown. But it was a little bit funny, right?
