I am very happy to announce that after 10 amazingly fruitful years as the leader of Great Lakes Outreach in Burundi, Simon & Lizzie Guillebaud and their family are relocating to the Lowcountry for the next 2 1/2 years. The Guillebaud’s will arrive here in October and will use this as home base as he seeks new supporters for the vision of Burundi as a Christian light to the nations. Simon will also be joining the staff at St. Andrew’s as a “Missioner.” This is a part-time position allowing him the freedom necessary to travel and develop the Burundi work. Within St. Andrew’s he will assist The Rev’d Dr. Anthony Kowbeidu and the International Missions.
Many of us have visited Simon in Africa, many more have met him, or heard him speak. He is clearly a man sold out for Jesus. The leadership of Great Lakes Outreach USA are trying to assist Simon and his family find a suitable place to live while they are here. We hope that some parishioner or friend might have a home they might give at a reduced rent, or even free, for as long as feasible. Ideally, Simon, Lizzie, and their three children (one not quite yet born) would thrive in a neighborhood with kids, and in a house large enough to host visitors and gatherings. Ideally, it would not be too far from St Andrews. If you have a suitable place, or ideas about where we might look, please contact Bud Sutherland, Charlie Carmody or Emily Mamo at my office, 843.284.4324.
More information will follow, but please join me in welcoming the Guillebaud’s!
