One of my favorite preachers was a man named Martyn Lloyd-Jones, the long-time pastor of Westminster Chapel in London. Last week (1 March) marked the 29th anniversary of his death. Below is a nice 10-minute introduction to his life:

I actually listened to his series on Revival years ago, incredible! Went through a season where I devoured everything by him and about him.
I loved his book Revival. Read it with a group of pastors group. It has a forward by J. I. Packer.
It’s so crazy. The expectations of preachers today haven’t changed much from what they were describing in the 10 min. video for MLJ.
Where’s the fog machine? Where’s the powerful entrance? Where’s the light show? Entertain me!
And then you realize that God’s Word is sufficient without the bells and whistles we love to, all to often, throw on it.
