There live in the lowcountry two brothers, Samuel (17) and Andrew (13). The boys, having been captured by the love of Jesus Christ, wondered how they might share Christ with their friends. Samuel, and some of his friends, decided to purchase Bibles to give away at school. Andrew, knowing of his big brother’s plans, decides he wants to do what he can do. So, hoping to surprise his brother, Andrew conspires with his mother to take advantage of a teacher work day and they head out to purchase as many Bibles as they can with $80. The $80, by the way, is all the money Andrew has – but, “it’s for the Lord” so he’s ok with emptying his wallet. To his surprise, when they arrive at the Christian Bookstore there is a sale on ESV TruTone Bibles with gold edges: $22.99 marked down to $5.00 (clearly indicating the Lord’s preferred translation). He buys the 15 (pictured above) they have in stock – $340 worth of Bibles for $54!
But it doesn’t end there. Yesterday I receive and email from Andrew’s mom – he’s decided to create a website for prayer requests called “Prayer Wheel – Impacting the world in God’s Name” (and he’s been checking daily to see if anyone has left a request or joined). So, need prayer for anything? Head over to Prayer Wheel. Want to pray for others? Head over to Prayer Wheel
It’s amazing, isn’t it, what two hearts captured by the love of Christ can do, especially when willing to do anything in His Name?
