I’m against sin. I’ll kick it as long as I’ve got a foot, and I’ll fight it as long as I’ve got a fist. I’ll butt it as long as I’ve got a head. I’ll bite it as long as I’ve got a tooth. And when I’m old and fistless and footless and tootheless, I’ll gum it till I go home to Glory and it goes home to perdition!

Sort of the Todd Bentley of his day.
Well, that’s not a ringing endorsement!
@Mark Cooke – except for the lying, false gospel, infidelity, questionable handling of finances, yeah, I guess there may be a similarity.
@Mark Cooke, I don’t really understand what you’re saying. There are a few similarities in style of populist rhetoric, but populist rhetoric is also an art, and I don’t believe Bentley even approaches Sunday. Though I could be wrong, I’ve never scrutinized Bentley’s language. We tend to read the history of Sunday in the light of his contemporary critics who despised his “low” choice of language, but if one re-reads his sermons today and his critics’ remarks, those remarks end up sounding rather appalingly elitist.
Nice quote, Steve!
