From the Anglican Curmudgeon:
Under that same Presiding Bishop (Jefferts Schori), the Episcopal Church (USA) claimed to “depose” Bishop Robert W. Duncan, then of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, and now Archbishop of the Anglican Church of North America. The “deposition” was recognized only by the same handful of provinces which are beholden to ECUSA for financial and other support. Unlike Bishop V. Gene Robinson, he has since been welcomed at Lambeth Palace by the Archbishop of Canterbury, he has been invited (with ++Cantuar’s blessing) by the Bishop of Winchester to preach and celebrate in his Diocese, and last week he led the celebration of the Eucharist at the gathering of the Global South provinces in Singapore.
It would seem that to be “deposed” by ECUSA’s House of Bishops is the ideal way to earn your standing among the other bishops of the Anglican Communion. To be consecrated by ECUSA’s bishops, however, seems to be a certain way to cause other Anglican bishops to look further into your qualifications.

Really, Steve?
You’re out now. Is there any real, pertinent,or relevant reason for slapping ECUSA around?
You’ve got your own “brand” now.
I understand when you were part of the church, engaged in the battle with us, but now you’re outside, having basically attributed to ECUSA no attention worthy of “real” Christians.
Why, then, the obsession? Who cares about what ridiculous thing KJS throws out these days? Doesn’t affect you in the slightest (as if it ever did).
ECUSA is a blip on the radar screen. If you’re going to be attacking false gospels, take some shots at the real offenders. Joel Osteen, TBN, Rick Warren on his bad days.
We’ll fight the ECUSA battle. There are some of us still capable of voicing our views, and we’ll continue to do so.
Enjoy life over there.
Thanks Steve. It really points out the leaderless leadership in ECUSA. In fact wasn’t the deposition of Duncan a statement of his apostasy by ECUSA? Now who’s calling who “not real Christians”? Perhaps Dr. Duncan found his faith in a “heretical” personal conversion as KJ would say. And don’t feed the trolls.
Really, Mike? You fight? Having observed your life these past many years I didn’t think you lifted anything heavier than a coffee cup, or your behind off the chair at Metto (or whatever coffee shop you frequent these days) to visit the latrine (that’s what you fightin’ guys call the bathroom, right?). Let me know when you’re in action so I can see this thing that has come to pass with my own eyes.
Mike, I’m not sure what you’re worked up about. But as I read this post it seemed to be about ++Duncan and ACNA’s recognition by the majority of global Anglicans as the faithful Anglican witness in the US. The fact that it addresses TEC and the ridiculous behavior of its leadership is referential to this point. Honestly, it looks to me like you’re wanting to pick a fight not make a point?
