This article appeared in the paper this morning.
“I’m excited for the future. I’m comfortable with the friendships I’ve built in the diocese, and confident they will continue,” Wood said. “(Now) we’re feeling our way forward in what gospel partnership looks like in the Anglican church.”
St. Andrew’s is one of four parishes to take steps to disassociate from the Episcopal Church in recent months. The others are St. Luke’s Church on Hilton Head Island; Trinity Episcopal Church in Myrtle Beach; and St. John’s Church on Johns Island.

This is the “great divorce” and I rejoice! Thank you, Steve, for shepherding your flock as you were called to do. We love you and are grateful that the Lord called you to this place–”for such a time as this”! You have prepared us well for this transition. It is not over and I will continue to pray for what lies ahead.
Amen!
Having our names written in The Lamb’s Book of Life trumps the roll book of ANY Episcopal Church. Now let’s get on with what Steve exhorts us to be about concerning God and His Holy Word, “Keeping the main thing The Main Thing!”
Let the dead bury the dead while we demonstrate and share God’s gift of eternal life to a dying, temporal world. People are searching for good reasons to live moreso than bad reasons to die. I, of all people, should know this truth about the human condition.
Time is of the essence. God’s Holy Word is the essence of a meaningful, fruitful life as we work, live, and interact with believers and potential believers.
Steve has reminded us early and often that “Truth is a person . . . and His name is Jesus!”
Please see my response to a misinformed shot fired at us in the P&C:

I note with interest the shot fired by Tide2 at Judge Segars-Andrews and her supposed funneling of Federal and State monies into St. Andrews. I would love to see some specifics so my organization can also gather at the trough. I’m a member of St. Andrew’s largely due to the membership of people like “Charlie”. She has pioneered programs and decisions that have been adopted by jurisdictions from coast to coast and is one of the most respected jurists in the nation. The ultimate consequences of her removal from the bench via a disgusting and arrogant process by a group of politicians will not only cost warring couples dearly (not to mention the collateral damage the children suffer) but will become apparent once she’s gone.
Judge Segars-Andrews aside – the way the process unfolded has made it difficult for any judge in SC to follow their mandate to sit on controversial cases. Sen. McConnell has established an Appeals Court of Last Resort that can overrule any decision via threat of expulsion from the bench. Chief Justice Toal’s cowardice in failing to stand up for the judicial branch was stunning and has set SC back 50 years by ceding unchecked power to the Legislature.
To try to impugn the integrity of St. Andrews by firing an uninformed shot at Judge Segars-Andrews will only strengthen the desire of many orthodox Christians to join our ranks. Thank you. We who know what she has accomplished are proud of Charlie.
