Depending on your flavor of Christianity, and whom you listen to, you may already know that Jesus is set to return on May 11, 2011. Or, May 21, 2011. Or, if the Mayans were operating in the power of the Spirit, on December 21, 2012.
Normally, such dire warnings do not produce much anxiety within me (I didn’t even by a bottle of bottled water at the millennium – much to the concern of many well-meaning parishioners who bought country homes and stockpiled food and ammo in anticipation of that cataclysmic non-event). However, when emails begin to pour into my inbox as the countdown begins, I take notice – if for no other reason than my spam filter is failing me.
So, here’s my advice: Repent and believe in the gospel.
Beyond that, live your life – in a manner that honors Christ.
Here’s what Jesus had to say about the matter. And, below is a nice roundtable discussion on the matter for those who’d genuinely like to know more about end times theories. For what it’s worth, my point of view is fairly well represented by Sam Storms.

I have watched this several times. Sam Storms is brilliant. The other guys are smart too. Wilson’s idea that things are “getting better” is strange.
OK, am I the only one that smiles at the irony of the song posted Friday and the subject matter of the roundtable discussion today?

Peace to you, new granddaddy! (amazing, beautiful boy!)
