Firm Foundations
The St. Andrews Men’s Retreat “Firm Foundations” will be happening on Friday evening Feb. 4 through Sunday morning February 6, 2011 at the Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort in Pawleys Island, SC.
Our Theme
There are many competing narratives that call to us as men. What is God’s story? Is it simply an invitation to attend lots of meetings and hopefully kick a few bad habits? Or is it much, much bigger? In this Retreat we will explore:
- The invitation from God to literally change the world.
- The foundations that either make or break our story.
- Seeing everything through new eyes.
- The essence of adventure.
This years’ Retreat speaker will be Gary Best. Gary is presently the National Team Leader for Vineyard Churches Canada and operates Dominion Hill, an international Leadership Retreat Centre on the Atlantic coast of Canada. Though his idea of a great story includes a double espresso and a round of golf, he has dedicated his life to changing the world one person at a time. Gary is married to Joy and has two children and four grandchildren.
Gary will be assisted in his teachings by Kirk Austin. Kirk is a psychologist who specializes in helping people in difficulty and/or transition reconnect with a better story for their lives. Though he shares Gary’s passion for golf and espresso, his greatest delight is to see hope renewed. Kirk is married to Dawna and has four children.
The music for the Men’s Retreat will once again be led by St. Andrews Director of Worship Arts Dwight Huthwaite and the Men’s Praise Team band. Dwight has been at St. Andrews since 1998 and has an incredible passion for leading God’s people into the presence of the Lord.
The cost for the Retreat is $130, double occupancy, or $170 for a private room. Your registration cost includes two nights accommodations at Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort in the Seaside condo complex, dinner on Friday and Saturday night, lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning. Scholarship help is available for this event so if money is an issue for you, don’t let it be. Scholarship requests should be directed to Kurtz Smith. Roommate requests should be noted on the registration form. If you don’t specify a roommate, one will be assigned to you. Single room requests should also be noted on the registration form.
For an additional charge of $40 per person we will also be offering a golf outing during our free time on Saturday afternoon at one of the Litchfield Beach Resort golf courses. Registration for golf can be done when you register online or with this form. If you would like to play with specific men, please include those names when registering.
