Kid Leo and the Weekend Special

Back in the day, WMMS ruled the airwaves and THE DJ was Kid Leo.

Each Friday at 5.47 PM as The Kid would sign off he’d leave us with “the weekend special” – the same three songs played back-to-back-to-back. The weekend wasn’t the weekend without hearing those songs. They were:

Born to Run (The Boss)

Cleveland Rocks (Ian Hunter)

And, Friday on My Mind (Earthquake)

Today, I miss those days.
